Robin and Marian…two people brought together by difficult circumstances.   I liked the fact that in most literature and movie depictions of Maid Marian, she is depicted as having total disdain towards Robin and believes him to be a rabble-rouser but soon learns different.  What made it convenient for them is that they were working both sides of the street to bring about “liberty and justice for all!”   In the movie Robin Hood Prince of Thieves (where was Kevin Costner’s British accent by the way?) , Maid Marian was not depicted as your humble quiet lady-of-the-court and  I liked that!  She was tough and knew who she could count on when the chips were down.  Robin and Marian’s relationship is one of legend.  In some literature she has been depicted as noble-borne while in others she was one of the commoners and not the dainty maid.
